Bee Policy

Plymouth County Mosquito Control Project is committed to protecting pollinators.  Since 2007, the State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board has instituted a policy to protect bees which PCMCP follows.  As part of this policy, we do not apply adulticides when bees are active.  Adulticides are applied between ½ hour after sunset and ½ hour before sunrise.

PCMCP does not use any neonicotinoids in its program.  The adulticide used in our program contains two pyrethroids.  Reports on the aerial interventions can be found below.

If beekeepers want the opportunity to cover their hives when we are adulticiding, spray routes for the following day are publicly available after 3pm on our website.
